Re: Where is the Industry Browser?

I was lamenting the disappearance of the old industry browser too until I realized I can use the screener to simulate, even improve, the old industry browser.  Start a new screen and just select the region, sector and industry you want and all of the stocks come up.  It actually is better because there are far more criteria you can use to filter the list, it just takes a few extra steps.  It is region specific, unlike the old browser, but that means the list isn't clutterred up with a bunch of foreign stocks that I can't trade anyway, and the price and Market cap filters can weed out the penny stocks I don't want either.. I just checked  US region, all market caps, a sector, an industry, and hit "find stocks".     Hopes this helps you out.

I am looking for the same thing. I always end up at the Stock Screener, which is not what I want, because it serves a different purpose.

Re: Where is the Industry Browser?

Hi - I'm sorry you are having trouble with the Finance site.  Could you provide more details on that feature and how you were accessing it before?  I will contact the Finance engineering team when I have more info.  Thank you!

Re: Where is the Industry Browser?

There used to be a list of industries with a bunch of info like market cap and P/E ratio at https://biz.yahoo.com/p/industries.html, but now it redirects to the stock screener. You can see individual stocks in certain industries, but you can't see info about an industry as a whole like you could with the industry broswer.

Re: Where is the Industry Browser?

I gave the URL in my first post.  That produced a web page with a list of all ~200 industries, and if I clicked on any one of them, I got a list of all stocks in that industry.  Now there is no longer any way that I can tell to get that information.

Re: Where is the Industry Browser?

Hi - Yahoo Finance has discontinued the Industry news section you are referring to.  The Yahoo Finance Feedback Forum is the place where you can make product suggestions and provide feedback. We’re always trying to improve our products and use your feedback to inform changes.  Here’s the url: https://yahoo.uservoice.com/forums/382977  Thank you.

Re: Where is the Industry Browser?

Please bring back the Industry Browser!  Our business valuation firm used it daily to find comparable publicly traded companies for the businesses that we are valuing.  It was a wonderful service!

Re: Where is the Industry Browser?

I've been a Yahoo! Finance user for 15 or more years. Please bring back the Yahoo! Industry Browser. Taking it away does not improve the service offering or the user experience. This was/is a very useful feature for individual retail investors. Thank you. Gregsherm2003.

Have you found  anything comparable to use?  I've been all over Yahoo and there's nothing.  Nor do any other websites offer what the yahoo industry browser offered.  I'm calling Yahoo corporate today when they open (11 am my time) and although I expect no satisfaction there, I'll be sure and give you an update.  Thanks, and good luck with this issue.
