We’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue the Yahoo Communities effective Jan 24, 2019.
Be assured you will still be able to find answers to your Yahoo product and app questions on the Yahoo Help website (https://help.yahoo.com). In addition, you’ll be able to find the Yahoo Community moderators on Twitter, responding from our many handles including @YahooCare and @YahooFantasyCC.

Starting yesterday 2/28/2017 we are no longer able to retrieve mail via our desktop client using POP mail from any of our computers or phones. We can see from the logs that it connects, then eventually times out. We can access it via webmail. We can send emails using the yahoo smtp server via POP mal.
For the heck of it, this morning we changed the config on one of our desktop clients to IMAP and it works just fine. Clearly this is a YAHOO server side issue. Please fix!

There were some issues Tuesday afternoon that caused major issues. It should have been fixed by late afternoon. My Thunderbird POP mail was working after about 2 hours or so, and my Android phone's app started working a little after 7PM Central time.
Yes - we knew there were issues yesterday, but it is still an issue for us. Have always used Pegasus as an email client with no issues on our pc's and use K9 mail on our phones. Everything was working fine until yesterday, then no POP access - times out.
Can send emails via smtp but cannot receive them.
No settings have been changed - issue is on all our pc's and phones connected via two differant ISP's, routers, and over 4G. So not an issue on our end.
IMAP works fine this morning as a temp work around until the problem is fixed.
It was announced yesterday that there was a problem with email. By the end of the day it was partially fixed. Today there is a clould problem spreading from the east coast being worked on that is affecting secure connections.
This was the message from staff yesterday:
Seeing a Temporary Error When Accessing Mail? - Yahoo Help Community
The temporary errors should now be resolved for iOS and desktop mail.
We are still experiencing isssues with the Android Mail app, please feel free to use the Mobile Web on your phone for now. Thanks for your patience!
Seems to be only an issue for POP - using SSL as IMAP using SSL works fine.
Just checked again and still not working for POP
Will check it again later this afternoon - we are on the East Coast by the way.
@RobLynn - Please make sure your POP settings are set up correctly: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN4724.html?impressions=true
Um - working fine for months/years - stopped working on all pc's and phones at the same time - yesterday - not working since then on any device we own - tested at two different ISP locations for PC's - Phones on wifi at both locations as well as 3G/4G.
But yes - they are all using POP - port 995 - SSL - they can all send mail via SMTP. They just cannot retrieve POP mail. Connects - does the ID - sends password - then gets a Socket read timeout. Log below.
Doesn't matter what ISP I am connecting to the Internet or whether 3G/4G on phone.
As I said above - I tested using IMAP and it works just fine.
