Domain extensions in Yahoo Mail - https://help.yahoo.com/kb/mail-for-desktop/SLN2153.html?impressions=true

When was the last time you had signed into this yahoo.co.in account?  Yahoo requires that you sign into your account at least once every 12 months in order for it to remain active, otherwise your account is deactivated due to inactivity.  When you first signed into this account was the inbox empty of emails bearing the yahoo.co.in email address?  What happens when you send an email to this account from another account?  Do you get a bounceback message saying the email couldn't be delivered?  Have you checked what email addresses are associated with this account?  Here's how to do that.

If you are using the New Mail:

    Click on "Settings"
    Click on "More Settings"
    Click on "Mailboxes"
To the right you will see "Mailbox List"
The first email address listed is your primary email address.

If the yahoo.co.in address isn't listed then what happened is that Yahoo was able to reactivate your account after all your yahoo.co.in address is just a name.  However it wasn't able to reactivate your email inbox associated with this name.  As the article posted at the beginning of this post states Yahoo no longer allows the creation of domain-specific email addresses like yahoo.co.in.  All new Yahoo account will use the Yahoo.com domain.  This applies to disposable email addresses also.  Since the system wasn't able to recover your previous inbox a new one was created using your account ID plus Yahoo.com and linked it to your account.  Unfortunately there is no way to receive any emails sent to the yahoo.co.in address or to recover any emails that were in that previous inbox.

Another change you will notice is that you are now able to sign into this account using just your account ID, your account ID plus yahoo.com, or your full yahoo.de address.
