I need to log into an old account, and i know the password i just dont have any of the recovery questions which is required for a code to log in.

"We've noticed some unusual account activity.

For your safety, choose a method below to verify that it's really you signing in to this account."

As shown in my previous response it's unlikely you will be able to recover your account due to the account verification at sign-in.   I even provided an article explaining what you are going through and explained why it's unlikely you will be able to recover this account.

At the current time Yahoo only provides the automated system for support of its free Yahoo accounts. You mentioned a proper help service would be amazing.  Can you provide more details on what a proper help service is and how much support you expect Yahoo to provide for its free Yahoo accounts.  Leaving feedback saying that you would be willing to pay for additional support options for their free account may prompt them to expand these options in the future.

Yahoo customer service phone number - https://help.yahoo.com/kb/account/yahoo-support-number-sln27069.html

Yahoo no longer uses secret question and answers as the primary means to recover your account.  By the end of the year (2017) this option will be removed entirely.  The automated account recovery system chooses the best recovery method available for your account.  If you are given the option to answer them that would mean the system found no other account recovery options registered for this account.  The answers you enter must match EXACTLY to what is registered to this account.  You will know the answer is correct when you see the word "Correct" in green at the end of your question.

Yahoo moved to using the email address and phone number entered into the Account Security page as the primary means to verify you are the rightful owner of this account.  Yahoo sent an email to all account holders a year ago  informing them of this change and included instructions on how to check if you still had secret questions attached to your account and how to delete those questions.  They also ask that you add a recovery phone number and recovery email address to the Account Security page, if you had not already done this, and to go through the verification process to make sure you could receive the account key code messages.

If there's something unusual about your sign in or recent activity, you may be asked go through a second verification step, even after entering the correct password. This may happen whether you have two-step verification enabled or not. We do this to protect accounts from unauthorized access.  Read more about this in the following article.

Account verification prompt at sign-in - https://help.yahoo.com/kb/mail-for-desktop/account-verification-prompt-sign-in-sln22500.html

When was the last time you logged into this old account from the Yahoo website?  Yahoo deactivates accounts that haven't been logged into at least once in the last 12 months.  Once the account has been deactivated it's unlikely you can recover it.  The following two articles can provide more information

Reasons Yahoo deactivates or deletes an account - https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN3057.html?impressions=true

Can I reuse my deactivated Yahoo ID? - https://help.yahoo.com/kb/mail-for-desktop/SLN3060.html?impressions=true

If it has been less than 12 months since you last logged in then try the following.

Yahoo no longer provides direct support via phone or email address for their free Yahoo accounts.  With over 300 million accounts the account recovery process is now completely automated.  Yahoo determines you are the rightful owner of the account by sending the account key code message to the verified phone number or email address entered on the Account Security page for this account.  If this information is outdated, was entered incorrectly, or was never set up then it's unlikely you will be able to recover this account.

Start by going through the Sign-in helper mentioned in the following article from a laptop or a desktop.

Problems signing in to your Yahoo account -
https://help.yahoo.com/kb/learn-fix-problems-password-yahoo-sln2051.html

When you go through the account recovery process and you see account recovery options that are no longer available you need to choose "I don't have access to this phone" or "I don't have access to this email" to see what other account recovery options are available.  If you get the "Uh oh" message saying the account can't be recovered online you can try the following but it's unlikely you will be able to recover this account.

Start here at Help for Yahoo Account - https://help.yahoo.com/kb/account
Scroll down the page until you see a "Contact Us" button.
Click on this to open a page that says "Need assistance with a Yahoo product? Let's see how we can help.".
Under "Tell us your Yahoo email address and product." you select the product you want help with.  In this case it would be "Account".
Enter your email address and check "I'm not a robot".  You may be sent to another CAPTCHA page for additional proof.
    Click the "Get started" button
This opens the "CHOOSE SUPPORT OPTION" page.
Under "Select from these options" you will find all the support options available to address this issue.

Re: I CANT ACCESS MY ACCOUNT..........

See the issue is, I do not have the phone number, or email any more for recovery. I simply cannot take "you cant recover your account" as an actual response to this issue. It's bad enough that I'm forced to use this forum to get answers, honestly a proper help service would be amazing. and ive accessed this account in the pass 12 months, only now is it requiring me to do the 2nd verification step.

You can let Yahoo know that they need to provide proper support for their free Yahoo account by leaving them feedback.  It would also be a good idea to let them know how much you are willing to pay on a per-incident basis to get this kind of support as they would need to be able to pay the customer service agents needed to provide this support.

Re: I CANT ACCESS MY ACCOUNT..........

I have tried the following and it doesn't work:

Start here at Help for Yahoo Account - https://help.yahoo.com/kb/account
Scroll down the page until you see a "Contact Us" button.
Click on this to open a page that says "Need assistance with a Yahoo product? Let's see how we can help.".

    Click the "Get started" button
This opens the "CHOOSE SUPPORT OPTION" page.
Under "Select from these options" you will find all the support options available to address this issue.
