Received this email in my spam today and it's freaked me out... please someone tell me it's bogus:

 

It's address from: "Yahoo! Mail" &**Username Protected**@helpfory.com>

Hello jmg988,
This is to inform you that your request on: 06/12/2018 2:07:11 p.m. to remove your account from Yahoo server has been approved and will initiate in one hour from the exact time you open this message. Regards.

This sounds like a phishing email designed to collect your account information.  If Yahoo sends you an email it will address you by your real first name, not your email address or your account ID and never as Dear User, Dear Yahoo Account Holder, or Dear Yahoo Mail User.  Yahoo sends emails from a cc.yahoo-inc.com address only.  Yahoo will never send you an email asking that you change, update, or verify your account information by clicking on a link in the email.

This article below shows how to report these emails as a Phishing scam.  Look under the topic "Mark emails as Spam" for more information.

I am a novice and a senior handicapped person!  Being told my email account will be deactivated is frightening!  Help!!!!

That is a phishing spam email.  Ignore and delete it.

As stated by @ArthurDent in an earlier post, that sounds like spam, we recommend you mark it as spam and don’t click any links in the email. This article explains how to identify emails that are really sent from Yahoo.
