Now that Justise Winslow has been named the starting point guard for the Miami Heat, he now deserves point guard eligibility in both Yahoo and ESPN.

Re: Justise Winslow PG eligibility

Position eligibility is determined by a combination of box score data, past performance, outside websites that track positional data, and a few of our trusted reporters. Adding or changing position eligibility is rare, however certain trends may result in updating a player's eligibility.

Re: Justise Winslow PG eligibility

It isn't THAT rare.  Here's his own coach and your own player notes from rotoworld from your own site:

Wed, Dec 26

Justise Winslow made another start at point guard against the Raptors during a 106-104 loss on Wednesday, scoring 21 points with two rebounds, four assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

Advice: Coach Erik Spolestra said coming into today and at shootaround that Winslow is his point guard. "It's a big responsibility. He loves those kinds of challenges," Spo said. He's coming off another solid game with 22 points, six boards and five dimes on Sunday, and Spo's comments likely mean he has the longest of leashes in the first unit. Winslow should be owned in standard leagues.

Player Note Mon, Dec 24

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra is counting on Justise Winslow to handle most of the point guard duties going forward.

Advice: "I just like the pace that he’s playing at right now. We’re giving him a lot of responsibility and he has that kind of personality," Spoelstra said. "When he has more responsibility, he gets stimulated more and ends up playing at a higher level because of that. But he organizes us so well." Winslow is putting up 15.0 points, 5.0 assists, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, 2.5 triples and 3.0 turnovers over his last two games and could be a must-start player if you're OK with some occasional inefficiency

Re: Justise Winslow PG eligibility

It seems there should be better system like you have in baseball  Winslow is playing as the point guard and is the point guard according to his coach  Why wouldn't you add pg to his eligibility? Who makes that decision and why hasn't it been done?  It makes no sense to not do it unless somebody  isn't doing their job.

Re: Justise Winslow PG eligibility

This is an unacceptable answer. The question is specific to this player, and was asked because all of the prerequisites have been met for a player position change. He is the starting point guard for the Miami heat - and yet he is not the point guard in yahoo fantasy basketball.

Re: Justise Winslow PG eligibility

@rocketsredglare - There is no mandatory count for position start in basketball. That is a baseball rule. Our experts have not applied the position but with the continued requests I'm sure we'll get them to change their minds soon.

Re: Justise Winslow PG eligibility

Why has Winslow not been granted PG eligbility still?!?

"Spoelstra has made it clear that Winslow is the Heat’s starting point guard with Goran Dragic out, and he’s flashed his point guard potential with Dragic injured."

Re: Justise Winslow PG eligibility

Justise Winslow should 100% be PG eligible. He's played as PG for the minimum required games and has been designated as PG by the coach for the forseeable future. Please update his role. thanks!
