Yahoo All-stars program

We’re excited to introduce the Yahoo All-Stars program!

We have so many wonderful customers helping out other Yahoo customers in our Yahoo Help Community forum! The Yahoo All-stars program is designed to recognize those who lend their time and expertise to others in the community.

You may already be an All-star in disguise if you:

  • Enjoy helping others
  • Are passionate and knowledgeable about Yahoo products
  • Are active and engaged in the Yahoo Help Community on a regular basis

What is it?

The Yahoo All-stars program is designed to recognize the most active, helpful people in the Yahoo Help Community. If you're invited to become a member of the exclusive Yahoo All-star program, you will be recognized for the great help you’re already providing. But it doesn’t end there!

Perks.

With great responsibility comes great power. Our 'Hoo Staff will support you fully by granting you special permissions and capabilities within the forums. We will also periodically have contests, special guests, and other exclusive programs just for the Yahoo All-stars.

If you’re invited to the program, you will have access to private Community sections where you can interact with Yahoo staff and other All-stars. You'll also be granted special privileges in the private All-stars boards and in your area of expertise in the Community. For example, if you're a Mail enthusiast or Fantasy Sports wizard and are most active on those boards, you'll have special privileges there to accept solutions on other user's topics, float (pin) posts to the top of a board, post images and much more.

In time, some Yahoo All-stars may reach Superstar status. Superstar status will unlock unique community privileges that are only available to a select few.

Get started, now!

If you are interested in becoming an All-star, it’s as easy as 1 - 2 - 3!

  1. Register in the Yahoo Help Community
  2. Help others in the community by posting responses, give kudos, and accept solutions.
  3. Come back often -- evenings, weekends, or whenever the urge strikes.

That’s all it takes!

‘Hoo Staff members are always listening and will periodically invite the best community citizens to join the Yahoo All-star program. Perhaps you’ll be next!

All-stars Program FAQ

How do I become a Yahoo All-star?

We look at many factors from attitude to correct answers and so much more. The best thing you can do is to be an active participant in the community, and of course be yourself.

How come I wasn’t chosen as a Yahoo All-star?

Unfortunately, we can’t accept everyone. We have a lot of customers who are great contributors, but we only have room for a certain amount of All-stars. Don’t despair! As we grow and evolve the Yahoo All-star program, we’re confident there will be opportunities to add new All-stars.

How and when will you notify me?

If you've been chosen to be a Yahoo All-star, we will contact you through Private Message here in the Yahoo Help Community or via email.

What special guests or exclusives?

We appreciate your interest in the program. We’re still working out details about how [guests/exclusives] will work for members of our All-star community.

What kind of perks?

If invited to become a Yahoo All-star, you’ll have access to private boards dedicated to interacting with Yahoo Staff, including product questions. Throughout the community and your area of expertise, you’ll also be able to:

  • Upload/post images
  • Use custom avatars
  • Edit your profile signature
  • Use private messaging to chat with moderators or other All-stars.
  • And more!

Is this only available for Sports?

Nope! Although we first started the program in our Sports community, it is also available for Mail.

Is there a time frame associated with the activity?

We encourage all of our All-stars to be active and engaged with the community, but we understand your life may not revolve around Yahoo. We are in touch with our All-stars, and if we feel there’s increased inactivity, a review may be needed to see if it’s the best fit. However, this does not mean once you have lost All-star status, you cannot earn it back.

Does being an All-star increase my Klout?

Our community is not linked through social media and will not affect Klout scores.
