Help Community

Announcements

We’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue the Yahoo Communities effective Jan 24, 2019.

Be assured you will still be able to find answers to your Yahoo product and app questions on the Yahoo Help website (https://help.yahoo.com). In addition, you’ll be able to find the Yahoo Community moderators on Twitter, responding from our many handles including @YahooCare and @YahooFantasyCC.

If you ever need help with your Yahoo accounts, try Yahoo Account Pro for 24/7 live phone support.

Why do we restrict the posting of phone numbers?

Why do we restrict the posting of phone numbers?

The Yahoo Help Community restricts the posting of phone numbers for two reasons:

1) To protect our users' personal information. It's good practice not to share this type of personal information on the Web.

2) Some scammers try to pose as Yahoo and post phone numbers for "official Yahoo support." All of these are scams. If you see what someone claims is a Yahoo Customer Care phone number posted online, whether it's on Facebook, Twitter or another social media channel, a web forum, or on a help site that claims to provide Yahoo tech support, it's not Yahoo, and it's not a Yahoo phone number!

If you contacted one of the scammers posing as Yahoo support and are concerned about your account security, you can learn how to recognize and secure a hacked Yahoo account.

Remember: account support from Yahoo is always free. If you call what you think is a Yahoo customer service phone number and are asked for credit card, banking, or account login info, end the call immediately. Handing over this information could compromise your account and your financial information.  Yahoo will also not make any outbound calls to customers.  If someone calls and states they are Yahoo support - they are not.

Update December 2017 - Yahoo now offers a paid subscription service - Yahoo Assist provides tech support online and over the phone to help with common 3rd party technical support needs like virus removal, slow computers, device setup and more. This is not account support however, so the above warnings still hold true. Don't be fooled by other numbers or services claiming to be Yahoo.
